I've not played a theme-park Management game in years. I remember messing around with Theme Park World as a kid, but not really with an understanding of what I was doing.Planet coaster has my interest, but I'm not really sure what to expect. I'd like to try it before committing any money if possible. If not, one question to start - where is the focus of the game? A lot of posts on here are of buildings people have designed. Is this more of a 3D Art game where you design the buildings/models/textures and then port it into a simple park sim, or am I just getting too distracted by a modding scene (because I'm more interested in park design with pre-made models and such than model design per se.) I guess i want to know, when you play this game what do you spend most of your time actually doing?Edit: I'm watching a few lets Plays and I'm getting hyped about a park idea. Are there inbuilt themes/rides?

(the lets play said he was using a 'euro-fighter', but didn't explain what I was. I was expecting the coaster trains to look like jet fighters or something, but they don't (that'd be cool, though). In the park game I played, it had a bunch of themed worlds - ie a spooky one, where all the rides had ghost/zombie/skeleton/spooky theme. Does Planet coaster have something similar? If so, what are the themes?.
That's a really good suggestion, but I'm also interested in knowing if I'll like the game. I don't really have the money for many big games at the moment, and I have a history of buying games, playing a couple of hours, and never picking them up again. Since this whole genre is so new to me, I just don't really know.At this point, I'm more inclined to get something like Civ 6, because it's something I know I can sink hundreds of hours into. I just don't know if that is true of Planet Coaster, and if I buy it and go over my 2 hours, it's basically my big game of the year.
But I might spend a weekend on one ride, have a lot of fun, and never touch it again.Although given the price, I could get Planet Coaster + a few other small games for the same price as Civ.Maybe I should buy an older theme park building game and see if I enjoy the Genre before committing here. I had a lot of fun with Theme Park World, but it was a long time ago and I didn't really 'understand' what I was doing.I've spent the last few (5 Shit I had things to do ) hours watching let's play's and head-designing my park, though.
